Our Story

In 2009, Jason Olsen saw potential to disrupt the traditional salon industry with a new and innovative business model that would change the way established salon professionals owned and operated their businesses. He wanted to create incredibly beautiful spaces for beauty professionals that felt like something you would find in New York or Miami. He also felt strongly about the need for business support and coaching for budding entrepreneurs looking to open their own salon. His passion for design and entrepreneurship were brought together and IMAGE Studios was born. After many late-night meetings, phone calls, road trips across the country (and sketches on who knows how many napkins) with his brother Shaun Olsen, the first IMAGE Studios opened its doors in Draper, Utah. Since then, the company has expanded into a national brand serving thousands of ambitious beauty professionals.

IMAGE Studios is a premium salon suite franchise offering modern, high-end studios at accessible rates for beauty, health and wellness professionals. Guided by creativity, freedom and success, we empower independent professionals to build thriving businesses. We strive to improve the communities we live in with the creation, support and growth of independent franchisees across the country.

  • Today is my one year anniversary. I can’t believe it’s only been a year. I feel like IMAGE Studios has been home to me. And it’s been such an amazing transition. I’ve loved taking my business into my own hands. And I’ve been so happy here. So it’s been awesome. And I signed another year… I’ve loved designing my own little suite. It’s been so much fun. I wanted to make sure it feels inclusive for everyone.

  • I looked at a bunch of different suites, and I was so worried about being isolated in a suite and not having anyone around, because a lot of them are very boxed in, where all the doors are closed and you’re walking through these hallways. But then I came to IMAGE Studios and it was like a breath of fresh air. With all the glass and everything, it just felt like a salon where everybody’s doing their own business. And that really drew me in.

  • I’ve never been happier. The salon that I owned was set up like this where it had individual suites. You came in, you did your business and you left. And now I’m on the opposite side. And it’s wonderful… The clients love it… Our owner, Brittany, is just wonderful. And her husband is the handyman. So he’s in here all the time. Great, great. couple. It’s just a family owned salon, you know?

  • The thing I love about IMAGE Studios is how open everything is, you know, how busy everyone is, when I can watch and help somebody else build their business. It inspires me, and, and it makes me realize why I’m in this industry. It’s not just by myself. I love being able to be inspired by other people… And when I came here, it was such a different environment in the sense that I feel like I work in a salon because these people are my friends. I feel like I can still learn things from the people that are around me… It really does have the environment of feeling like a salon, but being independent. And I think that that’s incredibly unique.
