Our Story

In 2009, Jason Olsen saw potential to disrupt the traditional salon industry with a new and innovative business model that would change the way established salon professionals owned and operated their businesses. He wanted to create incredibly beautiful spaces for beauty professionals that felt like something you would find in New York or Miami. He also felt strongly about the need for business support and coaching for budding entrepreneurs looking to open their own salon. His passion for design and entrepreneurship were brought together and IMAGE Studios was born. After many late-night meetings, phone calls, road trips across the country (and sketches on who knows how many napkins) with his brother Shaun Olsen, the first IMAGE Studios opened its doors in Draper, Utah. Since then, the company has expanded into a national brand serving thousands of ambitious beauty professionals.

IMAGE Studios is an exclusive salon suite that provides modern, high-end salon studios at affordable rates to salon professionals. Our core values of creativity, freedom and success are the driving forces that empower us collectively and embody all that we do as professionals in this industry. We strive to improve the communities we live in with the creation, support and growth of independent franchisees across the country.

Our Core Values

Creativity, Freedom, Success

These are the fundamental core values of the IMAGE brand. They represent our passion and what we do. They’re the pillars of our brand and company culture. And they’re one of the many reasons salon professionals choose to open their business at IMAGE Studios.

  • A lot of my clients that have followed me from my commission salon, or my employee based salon, love how private it is, they love the aesthetic of it, they feel really safe. It just feels like every time they come in, they’re looking at something new. They’re seeing other stylists through the glass windows, and they just say the energy here is amazing. And I feel it too. And I think all of us here affiliate as well. There’s just something so unique about this particular studio, like about IMAGE Studios specifically… I feel really at home here. I wish I did this sooner.

  • Who really inspires me is Tim and Lisa (Mulks). I think the biggest part of my actual dream is to actually own one of these one day. Ever since the day I met them, it just clicked, and I respect them both as business owners and as people… It’s awesome here. I don’t remember how many times everybody that walks through the door sees that IMAGE Studios logo that’s right behind you. And then just looking at the ambience of the room, they’re just blown away…

  • I’ve never been happier. The salon that I owned was set up like this where it had individual suites. You came in, you did your business and you left. And now I’m on the opposite side. And it’s wonderful… The clients love it… Our owner, Brittany, is just wonderful. And her husband is the handyman. So he’s in here all the time. Great, great. couple. It’s just a family owned salon, you know?

  • I looked at a bunch of different suites, and I was so worried about being isolated in a suite and not having anyone around, because a lot of them are very boxed in, where all the doors are closed and you’re walking through these hallways. But then I came to IMAGE Studios and it was like a breath of fresh air. With all the glass and everything, it just felt like a salon where everybody’s doing their own business. And that really drew me in.
